Ashley Bonck is entering her first year at Lamar as an assistant athletic trainer. Bonck will work directly with the women's basketball and men's and women's tennis programs, while assisting with the supervision of the graduate and student athletic trainer staff that services all 15 current sports at Lamar. She will also serve as an instructor in the health and kinesiology department. She has spent the past two years at the University of Oklahoma as a graduate assistant working with the Sooners' nationally-ranked women's volleyball team. She was awarded her Master's degree in human relations from OU in May 2008. From March-July of 2007 Bonck served as a manager for the Gatorade Summer Camps that were conducted on the OU campus. She compiled camp projections for ten sports, hired and supervised a summer staff of 30 and devised contracts with multiple vendors which included shipment schedules. Prior to that she was an athletic training student at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. She worked with the football, women's basketball and women's tennis programs during her four years. She also worked on the athletic training staff for the 2004 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament First and Second Rounds, hosted by LSU. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in athletic training from LSU in May 2006. A native of New Orleans, Bonck is a board certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers' Association and has certifications in CPR/AED and first aid. She is also a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Texas. |
