Clint Burges is in his fourth season as a member of the Lamar athletics department and his first as the department's video coordinator. He spent the previous three seasons as the manager/video coordinator for the men's basketball team. A native of Lufkin, Burges served as an assistant coach at Lamar State College-Port Arthur during the 2006-07 season, under head coach Don Bryson, who was the first All-American in Lamar men's basketball history. Burges came to Lamar after serving two seasons as a student assistant coach at Angelina Junior College under coach, and former Lamar basketball player, Guy Davis. While at Angelina, Burges coordinated the Texas High School Basketball Playoff Preview. He also worked numerous high school and college summer basketball camps. Burges prepped at Central High School in Pollok, Texas, where he lettered in basketball, track and cross country. He averaged 14.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a senior. He was a regional finalist in cross country and a district finalist in track four times. Burges received his bachelor's degree in exercise science and fitness management in the summer of 2007. He is a member of the Collegiate Sports Video Association (CSVA). |
