Position:
Assistant AD-Sports Information

Brian Henry is in his first year at Lamar, joining the department in December 2007 as the assistant athletic director for sports information.

He serves as the primary media contact for the Cardinal baseball, men's basketball, men's and women's golf and soccer programs.

Henry came to Lamar after working at the University of Missouri as assistant media relations director and the primary contact for the Tigers' women's basketball and nationally-ranked swimming & diving teams. Prior to his time in Columbia, he spent two years in the same capactiy at UTEP.

While at UTEP, Henry worked with the women's basketball, soccer and tennis programs, along with the UTEP Athletic Hall of Fame. He promoted three Academic All-Americans and publicized the UTEP soccer team that won a Conference USA-record 20 games and advanced to the second round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament in its first-ever appearance. He also served as the host of the Keitha Green TV Show and radio play-by-play voice for women's basketball and softball.

Before moving to El Paso, he interned at Vanderbilt where he worked with the Commodores' baseball and women's basketball programs and oversaw the department's web site.

A 2004 graduate of Troy State with a degree in journalism and sports management, he worked three years in the SID office where he served as the contact for the Trojan baseball, golf and volleyball teams. He also worked in the SID office at SMU from 1996-99.

A native of Tucson, Ariz., Henry is a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-America committee. He is married to the former Tracy Brown of Sanford, Maine. They have two children, Abigail (8/2/05) and Andrew (4/16/07).
