Brad McGowan is in third year as the director of development for the Lamar athletics department, joining the staff in December of 2004.

McGowan's responsibilities include serving as executive director of the Cardinal Club, in addition to soliciting corporate sponsorships.

Prior to Lamar, McGowan was the executive director of the Southeast Texas Family Resource Center. He was responsible for all program development, financial stability and growth of the organization as well as budgeting, volunteer recruitment, marketing, and media and community relations.

In addition, McGowan was the project manager for Communities In Schools Houston, mediation facilitator for St. Louis Partners AmeriCorps and aide to the director of the Mayor's Office of Youth Development.

McGowan has a BS in social work from Lamar and a MS in social work from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
