Lamar Ties For Sixth In Rain-Shortened Administaff ASU Invitational

EVANS, Ga. - Lamar shot two-over-par 290 and finished tied for sixth after the final round of the 30th Annual Administaff ASU Invitational at the Champions Retreat Golf Club on Sunday. Casey Clendenon and Leroux Ferreira turned in the low rounds for the Cardinals on Sunday, with each turning in a one-under 71. Clendenon was the highest finisher for Lamar as his 36-hole total of 144 placed him in a tie for 23rd. Ferreira had the most consistent round on the team with a double bogey, bogey and four birdies - including three in the final five holes. He tied for 47th at 147. Justin Harding shot 72 for a tournament total of 146. Russell Helson and Hugues Joannes recorded identical 76s on Sunday and also tied for 37th with Harding at 146. UCLA established a tournament record with a 20-under 268 Sunday to cruise to a 16-shot victory. Second-ranked Georgia posted a 10-under 278 and finished in second place. East Tennessee State took third, one shot back of the Bulldogs, while South Carolina and North Carolina rounded out the top five at -3 and -1, respectively. Lamar, ranked 22nd, tied with seventh-ranked Georgia Tech with a tourney total of 577.
