RIM TO RIM WITH LADY CARDINAL BASKETBALL

LamarCardinals.com posted up power forward Brittany Hendrix and captured her views on the adventure at hand concerning Lamar Lady Cardinal Basketball. Hendrix, a very talented forward from Desoto High School in Desoto, Texas, has made an impression on the court and in the weight room and could see significant action this season. Likewise, Hendrix is an excellent role model and will be a major player in the Character Counts program.

LC: Coming from one of the best high school programs in the state of Texas, what did it take to be a Lady Eagle at Desoto HS and did you enjoy playing for legendary coach Larry Goad?

BH: It took a lot of hard work and determination. Coming from one of the hardest districts, my teammates at Desoto helped me push myself the extra mile and let's not forget about Coach Goad. He pushed me on and off the court mentally and physically. I LOVE IT

LC: What are your first impressions of Lady Cardinal Basketball?

BH: Home! The previous teammates made me feel extremely comfortable, as well as the coaches.

LC: Head Coach Larry Tidwell has referred to you as a role model, why would he do this?

BH: Every day I wake up from now on I will wake up a Lady Cardinal! It's up to me to show off how good Lamar has been to me. I do this by always being positive and always doing what's right.

LC: If a person got to know you really well, what one thing would surprise them the most?

BH: I am extremely goofy and I love my team and family

LC: If you could go to any concert in the world, who would you go see and what city would you want it to be located?

BH: I would want to go to a Beyonce or Ciara concert and I would hope that it could be at the legendary "Montagne Center"!

LC: What has excited you the most about the upcoming season?

BH: Our team is great- we have so many great players and I believe our coaches are getting us prepared for every situation.

LC: What do you do to prepare yourself for a game and any superstitions?

BH: I go to bed an hour earlier than usual, I eat a big breakfast and through out the day I load up on fruit and water. Right before the game I'm blasting music to get hype then I pray.

LC: After playing numerous high school state play-off games, which one is the most memorable?

BH: Knocking off another good team Duncanville. It was a very hard battle- the game was sold out and it was a BIG win!

LC: You wear jersey #15, any significance to that number?

BH: Number 15 was one of my dad's basketball numbers. I wore the number in elementary at the beginning of my basketball career. This is a new beginning and I know I have to work. When I look in the mirror with the #15 on it reminds me of how much more work I need in order to stay successful

LC: What are your career plans after you have finished playing basketball?

BH: I would love to continue school so that I could get my Master's in Electrical Engineer or Accounting.
